Spiced honey cake with a delicious orange glaze.
Ingredients:
  • 4 cups all-purpose flour
  • 2 teaspoons baking powder
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1 pinch salt
  • 1 teaspoon ground cloves
  • 0.5 teaspoon ground nutmeg
  • 2 teaspoons ground cinnamon
  • 0.5 cup vegetable oil
  • 1 cup white sugar
  • 1 cup honey
  • 4 eggs
  • 1 cup cold brewed coffee
  • 1 apple - peeled, cored and shredded
  • 0.5 cup chopped walnuts
  • 0.25 cup butter
  • 0.66666668653488 cup white sugar
  • 0.33333334326744 cup orange juice
Instructions:
  • Preheat the oven to 325 degrees F (165 degrees C) and generously grease a 9x13-inch baking dish.
  • Combine flour, baking powder, baking soda, salt, cloves, nutmeg, and cinnamon in a bowl. In a separate large bowl, mix vegetable oil, 1 cup sugar, and honey. Beat in eggs one at a time. Alternate adding flour mixture and coffee to wet ingredients. Optionally, stir in shredded apple.
  • Pour the batter into the baking dish, scatter walnuts over the top, and bake in a preheated oven for about 1 hour until the cake springs back when touched. Let the cake cool for around 15 minutes before serving.
  • Melt butter in a saucepan, then whisk in 2/3 cup of sugar and orange juice until sugar dissolves. Bring to a boil, whisking constantly, then pour the glaze over the warm cake.
