Honey curry chicken simmered in soy sauce - a deliciously sweet and savory dish served with rice. Easy, quick, and budget-friendly.
Ingredients:
  • 0.5 cup honey
  • 4 teaspoons dry mustard powder
  • 1 teaspoon curry powder
  • 2 teaspoons garlic powder
  • 2 tablespoons soy sauce
  • 2 teaspoons applesauce
  • 4 chicken leg quarters
  • 3 tablespoons butter
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 0.33333334326744 cup water
Instructions:
  • Combine honey, dry mustard powder, curry powder, garlic powder, soy sauce, and applesauce in a bowl, then coat chicken legs with the mixture, ensuring they are fully covered.
  • In a large skillet over medium heat, melt the butter with olive oil. Add chicken, shaking off excess honey mixture. Keep extra honey mixture in a bowl. Use a sharp meat fork to poke holes in the chicken legs. Cook chicken bottom sides until browned, about 8 minutes. Pour in water, flip chicken legs, cover, and cook until no longer pink inside, about 15-20 minutes.
  • Pour the remaining honey-curry mixture over the chicken, let it come to a boil, and spoon the delicious pan drippings over the chicken before serving.
