Honey soy garlic chicken thighs cooked in a cast iron skillet - deliciously sweet and savory for the whole family.
Ingredients:
  • 8 (5 ounce) boneless chicken thighs
  • salt and ground black pepper to taste
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil, or as needed
  • 0.5 medium onion, finely chopped
  • 7 cloves garlic, chopped, or to taste
  • 1 cup honey
  • 0.5 cup soy sauce
  • 1 pinch onion powder, or to taste
  • 1 pinch garlic powder, or to taste
  • 0.25 cup chopped fresh cilantro
Instructions:
  • Generously sprinkle both sides of the chicken with a perfect blend of salt and pepper for a flavorful kick.
  • In a hot cast iron skillet, sear chicken in olive oil until golden on one side for 3 to 5 minutes. Flip chicken and add onion and garlic; cook until chicken is nearly done and onion is tender for an additional 5 to 7 minutes. Transfer chicken to a plate.
  • Combine honey, soy sauce, onion powder, and garlic powder in the skillet. Use a wooden spoon to scrape and mix the garlic and onion with the liquids in the pan.
  • Place the chicken back into the skillet, cover, and cook over medium heat for about 10 minutes until cooked through, flipping halfway. Verify doneness by checking that the juices run clear and the thigh registers at least 165 degrees F (74 degrees C) with an instant-read thermometer.
  • Place the chicken on a platter and generously drizzle with the flavorful pan juices. Finish it off with a sprinkle of fresh cilantro before serving.
