Honey-Almond Green Beans

Elevate green beans with a hint of sweetness for a delightful twist.
Ingredients:
  • 2 tablespoons butter or margarine, softened
  • 1 tablespoon honey
  • 2 pounds green beans
  • 2 tablespoons sliced almonds, if desired
Instructions:
  • Combine the butter and honey, then set it aside for later use.
  • Bring a 4-quart Dutch oven filled with 1 inch salted water to a boil. Add green beans and boil uncovered for 5 minutes. Cover and continue boiling for an additional 5 to 10 minutes until beans are crisp-tender. Drain and serve.
  • Combine the beans with the honey mixture and toss well. Sprinkle with almonds.
