Transform ordinary chicken into a deliciously tangy dish by simmering orange jelly beans with broth, vinegar, honey, spices, and aromatic herbs. Pour over pan-seared chicken, garnish with almonds, green onion, and cilantro for a mouthwatering meal.
Ingredients:
  • 4 skinless, boneless chicken breast halves
  • 1 tablespoon sesame oil
  • 0.5 cup chicken broth
  • 2 tablespoons rice vinegar
  • 1 tablespoon honey
  • 6 small orange jelly beans
  • 0.25 teaspoon crushed red pepper flakes
  • 0.5 teaspoon minced fresh ginger root
  • 2 tablespoons sliced almonds
  • 2 tablespoons minced green onions
  • 1 teaspoon fresh cilantro sprigs, for garnish
Instructions:
  • In a large skillet over medium-high heat, heat oil. Brown chicken for 2 to 3 minutes. Reduce heat to low, cover, and cook for 8 to 10 minutes until fully cooked and juices run clear. Set aside chicken to keep warm.
  • Combine broth, vinegar, honey, jelly beans, red pepper flakes, garlic, and ginger root in the skillet. Simmer over medium heat until liquid is reduced by half, then let stand for 5 minutes before serving.
  • Take out jelly beans from sauce; mix in almonds and green onion. Cut reserved chicken into slices and arrange on a platter. Drizzle sauce over the chicken and top with jelly beans and cilantro for a colorful garnish.
