Sweeten Brussels sprouts with honey-lemon butter to enhance their flavor.
Ingredients:
  • 1 cup water
  • 3 cups (16 to 20) Brussels sprouts (12 oz)
  • 2 1/2 cups baby-cut carrots (12 oz)
  • 2 tablespoons butter or margarine
  • 1 tablespoon honey
  • 1 teaspoon grated lemon peel
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/8 teaspoon pepper
Instructions:
  • Prepare Brussels sprouts by trimming and making a small "X" in the stem end. Halve any large ones. Place them in a 2-quart saucepan along with the carrots and water. Bring to a boil over medium-high heat, then simmer covered for 6 to 8 minutes until tender. Drain and return to the saucepan.
  • Mix in the rest of the ingredients with the vegetables until everything is coated. Transfer to a serving bowl.
