Simplify your Egg Tart recipe with Chinese flair, adjust sweetness to taste. Store leftovers in fridge for 3 days. Customize sugar levels for a lightly sweet treat. Try adding more sugar for extra indulgence. Enjoy!
Ingredients:
  • 1 cup confectioners' sugar
  • 3 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup butter
  • 1 egg, beaten
  • 1 dash vanilla extract
  • 0.66666668653488 cup white sugar
  • 1.5 cups water
  • 9 eggs, beaten
  • 1 cup evaporated milk
Instructions:
  • Combine confectioners' sugar and flour in a medium bowl. Use a fork to mix in the butter until it resembles small crumbs. Stir in the egg and vanilla until a dough forms, slightly moist. Adjust by adding more butter if too dry or more flour if greasy. Shape into 1 1/2 inch balls, press into tart molds covering the bottom and going slightly above the sides. Use two fingers to shape the edges into an A shape.
  • Preheat the oven to 450 degrees F (230 degrees C) and prepare the sugar syrup by boiling sugar and water together. Let it cool. Strain eggs and whisk into the syrup, then add evaporated milk and vanilla. Strain the mixture again and fill the tart shells.
  • Bake until golden brown and filling is slightly puffed, about 15-20 minutes in preheated oven.
