Indulgent hot chocolate with fun peppermint marshmallow skewers for a delightful treat.
Ingredients:
  • 2 3/4 cups miniature marshmallows (from 10.5-oz bag)
  • 2 tablespoons butter or margarine
  • 1 bag (10.5 oz) Chex Mix® Muddy Buddies® Peppermint Bark
  • 2 tablespoons sugar
  • 2 tablespoons unsweetened baking cocoa
  • 2 1/2 cups milk
  • 1/2 cup half-and-half
  • 1/4 cup semisweet or dark chocolate chips
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla
  • Sweetened whipped cream
  • Candy sprinkles
Instructions:
  • Grease a 9x9x2 inch square pan with butter. Combine marshmallows and butter in a large microwave-safe bowl. Microwave the mixture uncovered on High for about 1 minute or until smooth, stirring as needed. Add cereal and mix well. Press the mixture into the prepared pan.
  • Allow the mixture to sit at room temperature for around 1 hour until it firms up. Cut it into your preferred shapes like cubes, squares, or rectangles. Alternatively, use small cookie cutters (coated with cooking spray) to create fun shapes like gingerbread people, stars, holly leaves, or trees. Cover lightly with waxed paper or foil and set aside until ready to serve.
  • In a 2-quart saucepan, combine sugar and cocoa. Slowly whisk in milk and half-and-half until smooth. Cook over medium heat, stirring constantly, until hot but not boiling. Remove from heat.
  • Stir in chocolate chips with a whisk until melted and the mixture is smooth. Add vanilla. Serve by pouring the hot chocolate into 4 mugs, top with whipped cream and sprinkles. Skewer marshmallow bites and place in the mugs. Enjoy!
