Easy bite-size buttery pretzels, perfect for Game Day dipping!
Ingredients:
  • 1 package dry active yeast
  • 1 1/2 cup warm water
  • 1 tablespoon granulated sugar
  • 4 cups all purpose flour
  • 1 large egg
  • Coarse salt
  • 1 tablespoon unsalted butter
Instructions:
  • Heat your oven to a toasty 425°F and cover a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  • Take a large bowl and mix the yeast with warm water until the yeast dissolves, approximately within 2-3 minutes.
  • Blend the sugar into the yeast mixture until fully dissolved.
  • Combine the flour and salt, stirring until mixed. The dough will be crumbly. Transfer the dough to a floured board and knead with floured hands until smooth.
  • Beat the egg gently in a small bowl and set it aside.
  • Divide the dough into 5 portions. Roll each portion into a 1-inch diameter rope, then cut into 1-inch pieces using a sharp knife.
  • Dip each dough piece in the egg mixture and promptly place on the baking sheet, ensuring they are spaced about 1/2 inch apart. Sprinkle with coarse salt before baking.
  • Place the tray in the oven and bake until golden brown, about 8-10 minutes. Repeat until all the dough is cooked.
  • Melt the butter and generously brush the pretzel bites with it, then sprinkle with additional salt for a tasty finish.
