Make perfectly easy-to-peel hard boiled eggs in just 15 minutes using an Instant Pot for hassle-free cooking.
Ingredients:
  • Large eggs, cold from the fridge—at least 1 egg or as many as will fit in a single layer in your pressure cooker
Instructions:
  • Set up the pressure cooker: Insert a steamer basket in your Instant Pot and pour in 1 to 2 cups (1/2 to 1 inch) of water, ensuring it is right below the basket. Be sure to meet the minimum liquid requirement as specified in your pressure cooker manual.
  • Crack and add the cold eggs to the dish, ensuring they are not wedged too tightly or stacked on top of each other to prevent cracking.
  • Seal the lid on the pressure cooker, set the valve to "sealed," select high pressure, and set the timer for 4 minutes for electric pressure cookers (3 minutes for stovetop). Allow the pressure cooker to come to full pressure, which takes 5-10 minutes. Cooking starts once full pressure is reached.
  • After cooking, allow the pressure cooker to sit with the lid on and the steam vent "sealed" for 5 minutes to release steam naturally. For stovetop pressure cookers, remove from heat.
  • Quickly release any remaining pressure by carefully switching the steam valve to the "venting" position after allowing 5 minutes for natural release.
  • Chill the eggs: Place the eggs in a bowl of cold water, adding ice for quicker cooling (ice is optional for easy peel eggs). Replace the water until the eggs are cool, then refrigerate until ready to use. Enjoy the recipe? Share your feedback by rating and reviewing!
