Spicy, crispy fried chicken strips with authentic Chinese flavors.
Ingredients:
  • 1 teaspoon chili bean sauce
  • 2 teaspoons rice wine
  • 1 teaspoon light soy sauce
  • 1 teaspoon dark soy sauce
  • 2 teaspoons minced fresh ginger root
  • 1 tablespoon chopped green onion
  • 1 teaspoon white sugar
  • 0.75 pound skinless, boneless chicken breast halves, cut into 2-by-1/2-inch strips
  • 2 cups vegetable oil for frying
  • 0.66666668653488 cup all-purpose flour
Instructions:
  • Combine chile bean sauce, rice wine, light soy sauce, dark soy sauce, ginger, green onion, and sugar in a bowl. Add chicken strips, coat with the sauce, and refrigerate for 30 to 40 minutes to marinate.
  • Heat the oil in a deep-fryer or large wok until it reaches 375°F (190°C).
  • Pat dry the marinated chicken strips and coat them with flour. Deep fry until golden and fully cooked, about 8 minutes. Drain on paper towels before serving hot.
