Quick and fiery Indian-style beef burgers ready in 35 minutes!
Ingredients:
  • 1/4 cup mayonnaise or salad dressing
  • 3 tablespoons mango chutney, finely chopped
  • 1 teaspoon lemon juice
  • 1 tablespoon vegetable oil
  • 1 medium onion, chopped (1/2 cup)
  • 1 jalapeño chile, seeded, finely chopped
  • 2 tablespoons curry powder
  • 1 teaspoon ground cumin
  • 1 teaspoon ground ginger
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon pepper
  • 1 lb lean (at least 80%) ground beef
  • 4 kaiser rolls, split
  • 4 leaves lettuce
  • 1 medium tomato, sliced
  • 1 medium mango, seed removed, peeled and sliced
Instructions:
  • Combine the chutney mayo ingredients in a small bowl and refrigerate until ready to serve.
  • Heat oil in an 8-inch skillet over medium heat. Saute onion and chile for 3 to 5 minutes until tender. Stir in curry powder, cumin, ginger, salt, and pepper; cook for an additional 2 minutes, stirring constantly.
  • Preheat your gas or charcoal grill. Combine beef and onion in a large bowl. Form 4 patties that are 1/4 inch thick. Grill patties over medium heat, turning once, for 5 to 8 minutes until the internal temperature reaches 160°F. Toast the rolls cut side down on the grill during the last 2 minutes of cooking.
  • Spread a flavorful chutney mayo on the inside of the rolls. Next, place the delicious burgers on the bottom halves of the rolls and top them with crisp lettuce and juicy tomato slices. Finish by placing the top halves of the rolls on to complete these mouthwatering burgers.
