Savory stout beef stew with potatoes and beans slow-cooked to perfection.
Ingredients:
  • 4 large potatoes, cut into large chunks
  • 1 medium white onion, chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic, crushed
  • 2 (14.5 ounce) cans green beans, drained
  • 1 (6 ounce) can tomato paste
  • 1 (1.5 ounce) package dry beef stew seasoning mix
  • 2 teaspoons Worcestershire sauce
  • 2 cups beef broth
  • 2 tablespoons all-purpose flour, or as needed
  • 0.5 teaspoon seasoned salt, or to taste
  • 2 pounds cubed beef stew meat
  • 0.5 (15 ounce) can Irish stout beer (such as Guinness®), or more if needed
  • 1 cup water, or as needed
Instructions:
  • Combine potatoes, onion, garlic, green beans, and tomato paste in a slow cooker. Season with stew seasoning, Worcestershire sauce, and pour over beef broth. Stir well to mix all ingredients evenly.
  • In a medium skillet, heat oil over medium-high heat until shimmering.
  • Spread flour on a plate and sprinkle with seasoned salt. Dredge stew meat in the seasoned flour and sear in a hot skillet for 5 to 7 minutes per batch. Transfer the browned meat to the slow cooker.
  • Pour in stout beer into the slow cooker, adding water as needed to ensure the ingredients are fully immersed to prevent any dryness.
  • Cook on High for 6 hours until the meat is tender and the potatoes are soft.
