Irresistible baked Italian tortellini, guaranteed to leave you craving more.
Ingredients:
  • 1 pound bulk Italian sausage
  • 1 onion, chopped
  • 1 green bell pepper, chopped
  • 1 (24 ounce) jar marinara sauce
  • 1 (14 ounce) can Italian-style diced tomatoes
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 (9 ounce) package frozen cheese-filled tortellini
  • 2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
Instructions:
  • Place a large pot over medium heat. Add crumbled sausage, onion, and green bell pepper. Sauté the mixture until the sausage is fully cooked, about 7 to 10 minutes. Drain excess grease before proceeding.
  • Cover the sausage mixture with marinara sauce and diced tomatoes, then sprinkle with garlic powder and mix well. Simmer on medium-low heat until the diced tomatoes meld into the sauce, approximately 30 to 45 minutes.
  • Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C) for the perfect baking temperature.
  • 1. Boil a pot of salted water. 2. Cook frozen tortellini until they float to the surface and the filling is hot, about 6 to 7 minutes. Drain.
  • Add the cooked tortellini to the simmering sauce, allowing them to meld for 5 more minutes. Transfer the mixture into a 13x9-inch baking dish and sprinkle with mozzarella cheese on top.
  • Bake until the cheese is golden brown, about 20-30 minutes in a preheated oven.
