Homemade Italian pasta sauce with slow-cooked beef meatballs for rich tomato taste.
Ingredients:
  • 2 (28 ounce) cans whole peeled tomatoes
  • 1 pound lean ground beef
  • 1 cup fresh bread crumbs
  • 1 tablespoon dried parsley
  • 1 tablespoon grated Parmesan cheese
  • 0.25 teaspoon ground black pepper
  • 0.125 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 egg, beaten
  • 0.75 cup chopped onion
  • 5 cloves garlic, minced
  • 0.25 cup olive oil
  • 2 teaspoons salt
  • 1 teaspoon white sugar
  • 1 bay leaf
  • 1 (6 ounce) can tomato paste
  • 0.75 teaspoon dried basil
Instructions:
  • Prepare to create magic in the kitchen by collecting all the necessary ingredients.
  • Combine ground beef, bread crumbs, parsley, Parmesan, black pepper, garlic powder, and beaten egg in a large bowl. Mix thoroughly and shape the mixture into 12 meatballs. Refrigerate covered until ready to use.
  • Saute onion and garlic in olive oil in a large saucepan over medium heat until the onion becomes translucent.
  • Gently incorporate the tomatoes, salt, sugar, and bay leaf into the mixture. Cover the pot, lower the heat, and let it simmer for 90 minutes.
  • Add the tomato paste, fresh basil, a touch of pepper, and the savory meatballs to the pot. Let everything simmer together for an additional 30 minutes to intensify the flavors.
  • Indulge in this dish while it's piping hot and savor every bite!
