Italian Tiramisu

Indulge in the classic Italian dessert, Tiramisu. Ladyfingers soaked in coffee, layered with creamy mascarpone, and dusted with cocoa powder. Your new favorite sweet treat!
Ingredients:
  • 6 egg yolks
  • 1 cup white sugar, divided
  • 1 pound mascarpone cheese
  • 6 egg whites, stiffly beaten
  • 0.25 cup heavy cream
  • 3 tablespoons kirschwasser
  • 1.25 cups strong brewed coffee, cold
  • 25 ladyfingers
  • 1 tablespoon unsweetened cocoa powder
Instructions:
  • In a medium bowl, vigorously beat the egg yolks and 1/3 cup of sugar. Add the mascarpone cheese, beaten egg whites, cream, and kirschwasser, then stir until the mixture is smooth. Set it aside.
  • Dissolve the remaining 2/3 cup of sugar in coffee. Lightly dip the ends of ladyfingers in the coffee mixture to prevent oversaturation. Arrange ladyfingers in a single layer in a 9 x 13 inch glass baking dish. Spread a layer of cheese mixture over the ladyfingers, then repeat the layers, finishing with the cheese mixture.
  • Chill in the fridge for a few hours, then dust with cocoa right before enjoying.
