Indulgent tiramisu made with creamy mascarpone, espresso-soaked ladyfingers, and a hint of amaretto.
Ingredients:
  • 6 large eggs, separated, divided
  • 3 tablespoons sugar
  • 2 (8.8 ounce) containers mascarpone cheese
  • 4 tablespoons amaretto liqueur, divided
  • 1.5 cups brewed espresso, cooled
  • 1.5 (12 ounce) packages ladyfingers (about 30)
  • 1 tablespoon cocoa powder, or as needed
Instructions:
  • In a bowl, whisk egg yolks and sugar with an electric mixer until smooth and creamy. Mix in mascarpone cheese and 2 tablespoons of amaretto until fully combined.
  • Whip egg whites in a clean glass, metal, or ceramic bowl until stiff peaks form, then gently fold them into the mascarpone mixture.
  • Combine the espresso and 2 tablespoons of amaretto in a shallow dish, stirring well. Dip each ladyfinger quickly into the mixture, lining the bottom of an 8-inch glass dish one at a time.
  • Layer the bottom of the dish with espresso-soaked ladyfingers, then spread half of the mascarpone mixture on top. Add another layer of ladyfingers, followed by the rest of the mascarpone mixture. Chill in the refrigerator for approximately 4 hours before serving.
  • Sprinkle with a dusting of cocoa powder just before serving.
