Easy homemade fluffy giant biscuits, perfect with gravy or butter and jam.
Ingredients:
  • 1 tablespoon baking powder
  • 1 tablespoon white sugar
  • 0.33333334326744 cup shortening
  • 1 cup milk
Instructions:
  • Preheat the oven to a toasty 425 degrees F (220 degrees C).
  • In a large bowl, combine flour, baking powder, sugar, and salt. Add shortening and mix until the mixture resembles coarse meal.
  • Add milk slowly while stirring until dough comes together and no longer sticks to the side of the bowl.
  • Transfer the dough onto a floured surface and knead it 15 to 20 times. Gently pat or roll the dough out to a 1-inch thickness. Using a large cutter or juice glass dipped in flour, cut out the biscuits. Repeat the process until all the dough is used. Remove any excess flour, then transfer the biscuits to an ungreased baking sheet.
  • Bake until edges turn golden brown, about 13-15 minutes in the preheated oven.
  • Savor the dish!
