Quick and flavorful jaffa friands for a delicious treat in no time!
Ingredients:
  • 225.00 gm icing sugar mixture
  • 32.50 gm cocoa powder
  • 100.00 gm almond meal (ground almonds)
  • 125.00 ml plain flour
  • 20.00 ml finely grated orange rind
  • 6 egg whites, lightly whisked
  • 185g butter, melted, cooled
  • Icing sugar mixture, to serve
Instructions:
  • Preheat your oven to 200°C/180°C fan-forced and grease a 12-hole friand pan with 1/2 cup capacity.
  • In a bowl, sift icing sugar and cocoa, then add almond meal, flour, and orange rind. Mix everything together, creating a well in the center. Pour in the egg whites and butter, and stir until well combined.
  • Transfer the mixture into the prepared pan and bake for 15 to 20 minutes, or until a skewer inserted into the center of a friand comes out clean. Let it sit in the pan for 5 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack to cool. Dust with icing sugar and serve.
