Quick and easy Japanese scallops with sweet miso butter sauce.
Ingredients:
  • 1 tablespoon miso paste
  • 1 tablespoon sake
  • 1 teaspoon white sugar
  • 1 tablespoon oil
  • 0.5 pound sea scallops
  • 1 teaspoon water, if needed
  • 1 tablespoon butter
Instructions:
  • Mix the miso paste, sake, soy sauce, and sugar in a small bowl.
  • In a skillet over medium heat, sear scallops in oil for 3 to 4 minutes. Flip and cook until fully opaque and tender, approximately 1 minute.
  • Lower the heat and allow the skillet to cool for 1 minute. Incorporate the miso sauce and simmer for approximately 3 minutes, adding water to adjust consistency as needed. Introduce butter and stir until fully melted.
