Create a delicious homemade Japanese noodle and pork soup, bursting with aromatic flavors.
Ingredients:
  • 1/4 tsp sesame oil
  • 80ml soy sauce
  • 4 garlic cloves, crushed
  • 500g Pork Sirloin Steak
  • 9.20 gm peanut oil
  • 2 tsp ginger, finely grated
  • 1 long red chilli, finely sliced
  • 1/2 tsp Chinese five spice
  • 1l chicken stock
  • 20.00 gm mirin seasoning
  • 200g Swiss brown mushrooms, quartered
  • 150g snow peas, trimmed, thinly sliced
  • 180g ramen noodles
  • 2 hard-boiled Free Range Eggs, halved
Instructions:
  • In a ceramic dish, mix sesame oil, 2 tablespoons of soy sauce, and half of the garlic. Add the pork and toss to coat evenly. Let it marinate for 5 minutes.
  • In a large heavy-based pan over medium-low heat, warm up the peanut oil. Incorporate ginger, chili, Chinese five spice, and the rest of the garlic. Sauté for 1-2 minutes until aromatic. Pour in the stock, 2 cups (500ml) of water, mirin, and remaining soy sauce. Bring to a boil, then lower the heat and let it simmer for 5 minutes. Finally, introduce the mushrooms and snow peas. Continue cooking for 5 minutes until they are tender.
  • Preheat a barbecue plate or chargrill over medium heat. Grill the pork for 2-3 minutes on each side for medium doneness, or until cooked to your preference. Allow it to rest for 5 minutes before slicing.
  • Cook the ramen noodles in boiling water for 5 minutes, then drain while the pork is resting.
  • Ladle the flavorful broth over the noodles, then add a soft-boiled egg and savory pork to each bowl.
