Iconic Juicy Lucy burger: Seasoned beef patties stuffed with oozy melted American cheese, a Minnesota favorite.
Ingredients:
  • 1.5 pounds ground beef
  • 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 teaspoon black pepper
  • 0.75 teaspoon garlic salt
  • 4 slices American cheese (such as Kraft®)
  • 4 hamburger buns, split
Instructions:
  • Combine ground beef with flavorful Worcestershire sauce, pepper, and garlic salt in a bowl, ensuring they are thoroughly mixed. Shape the mixture into eight thin patties slightly bigger than a slice of cheese.
  • Layer cheese slices, slice into squares, and place a small stack in the center of a beef patty. Top with another patty and firmly seal edges to enclose the cheese. Ensure a tight seal to prevent cheese from melting out during cooking. Repeat with remaining cheese and patties.
  • Preheat a large cast-iron skillet over medium heat. Cook the patties in the skillet until well browned, about 4 minutes. They will puff up from the melting cheese. Flip the patties, prick the tops to release steam, and cook for another 4 minutes until browned on the other side and no longer pink in the center. Check that the internal temperature reaches at least 160°F (70°C) with an instant-read thermometer.
  • Present the dish on toasted hamburger buns for a delicious meal.
