Watermelon sorbet: a delightful icy treat.
Ingredients:
  • 3 cups water
  • 3 cups white sugar
  • 0.25 cup lime juice
  • 4 cups cubed seeded watermelon
Instructions:
  • In a saucepan, combine water and sugar over medium-high heat until sugar dissolves, stirring occasionally. Let it cool. Blend watermelon in a blender or food processor until smooth. Combine watermelon, lime juice, and syrup in a large bowl. Cover and chill in the refrigerator.
  • Transfer the chilled mixture into an ice cream maker and freeze following the manufacturer's instructions until it becomes a "soft-serve" consistency. Then, move the sorbet into a lidded one- or two-quart plastic container, cover the surface with plastic wrap, and seal it. For optimal results, let the sorbet ripen in the freezer for at least 2 hours or overnight.
