Ingredients:
  • 3 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 0.5 teaspoon salt
  • 3 cups white sugar
  • 1.5 cups butter, softened
  • 5 eggs
  • 1 cup milk
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
Instructions:
  • Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C. Then, generously grease a tube pan with butter and lightly dust with flour.
  • Combine the flour, baking powder, and salt in a bowl.
  • In a large bowl, mix together sugar and butter until creamy using an electric mixer. Add eggs one at a time, beating well after each addition. Alternate adding flour mixture and milk, then mix in vanilla extract. Pour batter into the prepared tube pan.
  • Bake in the oven until a toothpick comes out clean, 1 to 1.5 hours. Let it cool in the pan for 5 minutes, then invert onto a wire rack and cool for about 30 minutes.
