Florida-inspired dish: Shrimp and lobster with mushrooms in zesty Key lime butter sauce, perfect with pasta or rice.
Ingredients:
  • 0.5 cup butter, softened
  • 1 tablespoon hot pepper sauce
  • 1.5 tablespoons key lime juice
  • 2 tablespoons butter
  • 2 pounds medium Key West pink shrimp, peeled and deveined
  • 4 small spiny lobster tails, meat removed from shell and coarsely chopped
  • 1 pound fresh mushrooms, sliced
  • 1.5 teaspoons minced garlic
  • 0.25 cup white wine
Instructions:
  • Combine 1/2 cup of butter with hot pepper sauce and Key lime juice in a small bowl. Cover with plastic wrap and chill in the refrigerator for a minimum of 3 hours.
  • In a large non-stick skillet over medium-high heat, melt 2 tablespoons of butter. Add shrimp and lobster tails and stir until shrimp just turn pink, about 2 to 3 minutes.
  • Lower the heat to medium and add mushrooms, garlic, and white wine. Keep stirring until the mushrooms are tender and have released their liquid, approximately 5 minutes.
  • Stir in the Key lime juice mixture off the heat until smooth and melted.
