Indulge in irresistible homemade caramel corn with wholesome whole grains.
Ingredients:
  • 5 cups MultiGrain Cheerios™ cereal
  • 8 cups plain popped popcorn
  • 1 cup regular salted or honey-roasted peanuts
  • 1/2 cup light corn syrup
  • 1/4 cup honey
  • 2 tablespoons butter or margarine
  • 1/2 teaspoon vanilla
Instructions:
  • Preheat oven to 325°F. Combine cereal, popcorn, and peanuts in a large bowl; mix well and set aside.
  • In a small saucepan, warm corn syrup, honey, and butter over medium heat, stirring often, until it just starts to boil. Take it off the heat and mix in the vanilla extract.
  • Drizzle syrup mixture onto cereal, mixing until coated evenly. Transfer to ungreased 15x10x1-inch pan and spread evenly with a rubber spatula.
  • Bake for 20-25 minutes, stirring occasionally, until mixture is crispy. In the meantime, lay a sheet of waxed paper on your work surface.
  • Pour the baked mixture onto waxed paper, spreading it out into a thin layer. Let it cool completely for about 30 minutes. Break the caramel corn into pieces and store in a tightly covered container.
