Creamy noodle casserole with sour cream, eggs, cottage cheese, and buttery cracker topping. Ideal for Shabbat and Jewish celebrations!
Ingredients:
  • 1 (8 ounce) package large egg noodles
  • 6 tablespoons butter, sliced
  • 6 eggs, separated
  • 0.5 cup white sugar
  • 0.75 (8 ounce) package cream cheese, softened
  • 4 tablespoons sour cream
  • 1 (16 ounce) package cottage cheese, creamed
  • 4 tablespoons butter, melted
  • 0.25 cup white sugar
  • 0.33333334326744 cup graham cracker crumbs
Instructions:
  • Prepare your ingredients. Preheat your oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C) and generously grease a 9x13-inch glass baking dish.
  • Bring a pot of salted water to a boil. Cook pasta until al dente, about 8 to 10 minutes. Drain, then stir in 6 tablespoons of sliced butter.
  • In a medium bowl, combine beaten egg yolks, sugar, and cream cheese with the noodles. Mix in sour cream, cottage cheese, and salt.
  • Whisk egg whites until they form stiff peaks, then gently fold them into the mixture. Pour the mixture into the prepared baking dish.
  • Mix together the velvety melted butter, 1/4 cup sugar, and graham cracker crumbs in a small bowl, then artfully sprinkle over the noodle mixture.
  • Bake in the preheated oven until the casserole is fully set and sports a beautiful golden brown crust, which should take approximately 1 hour.
  • Indulge and savor every bite!
