Try this refreshing Lavender Lemonade twist for a floral summer sipper.
Ingredients:
  • A small handful of freshly picked and rinsed lavender flowers or a tablespoon of dried lavender flowers
  • 1 cup white, granulated sugar
  • 2 cups of boiling water for the infusion
  • 1 1/2 cups freshly squeezed lemon juice
  • 2 cups or more of cold water
  • Ice
Instructions:
  • Prepare the lavender flowers by cutting them from the stems and placing them in a medium bowl. Sprinkle the sugar over the flowers and use your clean fingers to gently rub them together. Avoid using a Pyrex bowl to prevent cracking when adding boiling water.
  • Create a fragrant lavender simple syrup by combining boiling water with the lavender-infused sugar until dissolved. Infuse for at least 30 minutes, allowing the flavors to bloom beautifully.
  • Pour the fragrant lavender-infused simple syrup through a strainer into a stylish carafe or pitcher.
  • Prepare the lemonade: Stir in the lemon juice, then mix in an additional 2 cups of cold water. Adjust tartness as needed by adding more lemon juice for sweetness and more sugar for tartness. Customize the concentration with ice and water to your liking, keeping in mind the ice will melt over time. For an extra touch, garnish with sliced lemons and lavender sprigs in the serving pitcher.
