Effortlessly turn leftover Get-ahead gravy into a tasty midweek meal by topping it with cheesy breadcrumbs and letting the oven work its magic. Deliciously simple!
Ingredients:
  • 160 g mature Cheddar cheese
  • 50 g stale bread
  • 820 g Get-ahead gravy leftovers (make sure you’ve removed all the bones, see tip)
  • 1 handful of frozen spinach
  • 700 ml semi-skimmed milk
  • 250 g dried lasagne sheets
  • olive oil
Instructions:
  • - Preheat the oven to 200°C/400°F/gas 6. Grate the Cheddar cheese coarsely. Finely chop the bread to make rustic breadcrumbs and set both aside. - Heat the Get-ahead gravy leftovers with frozen spinach and milk in a large shallow casserole pan over medium-high heat. - Add half of the grated Cheddar and simmer briefly. Season with sea salt and black pepper. - Break the pasta sheets into the pan, mixing well. Push some sheets to the top to create a top layer, using a spoon to create some dips and wells. - Combine the remaining Cheddar with breadcrumbs and sprinkle on top. Drizzle with olive oil. - Bake for 20 minutes until golden and bubbling. Serve with an extra grating of Cheddar, if desired.
