Lemon Pound Cake I

Total Time:
Light and fluffy pound cake, reminiscent of Sara Lee's!
Ingredients:
  • 1 cup unsalted butter
  • 0.75 cup white sugar
  • 1 cup cake flour
  • 2 tablespoons dry milk powder
  • 1 tablespoon corn syrup
  • 0.5 lemon, juiced
  • 0.5 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 0.25 teaspoon ground nutmeg
  • 0.5 teaspoon baking powder
  • 0.25 teaspoon ground mace
Instructions:
  • Bring the butter to room temperature. Cream together the sugar and butter until fluffy. Incorporate eggs one at a time, mixing thoroughly. Combine flour, powdered milk, and corn syrup, beating well. Add lemon juice, salt, vanilla, nutmeg, and mace. Ensure everything is properly mixed before transferring to a greased loaf pan.
  • Bake at 325 degrees F (165 degrees C) for 45 minutes, until a toothpick comes out clean, aiming for a slightly underbaked texture.
