Indulge in a delightful vanilla wafer and pecan topping on this loaf.
Ingredients:
  • 0.5 cup melted butter
  • 0.33333298563957 cup white sugar
  • 1.5 cups crushed vanilla wafers
  • 1 cup chopped pecans
  • 1 cup butter, softened
  • 2 cups white sugar
  • 4 eggs
  • 1 cup milk
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
  • 2.6666700839996 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1.5 teaspoons baking powder
Instructions:
  • Preheat your oven to a toasty 350 degrees F (175 degrees C) and generously grease two 8x4 inch bread pans.
  • Create the topping by blending 1/2 cup of butter, 1/3 cup of sugar, vanilla wafers, and pecans until well mixed. Press the mixture firmly into the bottom of the prepared pans.
  • Blend together the butter and sugar until creamy. Gradually mix in the eggs one by one, ensuring each is well incorporated. Stir in the milk and vanilla until fully combined.
  • Sift together flour, baking powder, and salt. Alternate adding the dry mixture with milk into the batter; mix thoroughly. Transfer the batter into the prepared loaf pans.
  • Bake the cake at 350 degrees F (175 degrees C) for 1 hour until a toothpick comes out clean. Cool on a wire rack after removing from the oven.
