Simple homemade mac and cheese with creamy butter and cheese sauce.
Ingredients:
  • 2 cups milk
  • 8 ounces elbow macaroni
  • 2 tablespoons butter
  • 0.25 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup shredded Cheddar cheese
  • 8 ounces cubed processed cheese food
Instructions:
  • Cook elbow macaroni in a large pot of boiling salted water until perfectly tender (al dente); then drain.
  • In a medium saucepan over medium heat, melt butter. Whisk in flour vigorously. Pour in milk and cook until thick and bubbly, about 5 to 7 minutes. Stir in cheeses until fully melted.
  • Combine the drained pasta with the creamy cheese sauce in a large bowl, ensuring the pasta is evenly coated.
  • Transfer the mixture into a buttered 2-quart casserole dish. Bake in a preheated 350°F (175°C) oven for 30 minutes. Allow it to rest for 10 minutes before serving.
