Upgrade your mac and cheese with zesty cheddar, creamy yogurt, and flavorful stewed tomatoes. Elevate it with hints of celery seed and dried basil for a comforting twist.
Ingredients:
  • 1 (16 ounce) package macaroni
  • 2.5 cups shredded sharp Cheddar cheese
  • 0.5 cup plain yogurt
  • 1 (14.5 ounce) can stewed tomatoes
  • 0.125 teaspoon celery seed
  • salt to taste
  • ground black pepper to taste
  • 0.25 tablespoon dried basil
Instructions:
  • Cook the macaroni pasta in a large pot of boiling salted water until perfectly tender. Drain thoroughly.
  • In a large saucepan over medium heat, combine the grated Cheddar cheese, plain yogurt, butter or margarine, and tomatoes until melted and smooth. Season with salt, black pepper, basil, and celery seed to taste. Add cooked pasta and stir until well blended.
  • Remove the pan from the heat and allow it to sit for 10 minutes with the lid on, giving it an occasional stir. Serve while hot.
