Elevate McNuggets into gourmet sushi canapes by pairing them with seasoned rice, curry sauce, and impress your guests with this unexpected twist.
Ingredients:
  • 24 McDonald’s Chicken McNuggets
  • 450g (3 cups) cooked medium-grain white rice or sushi rice
  • Vegetable oil, to brush
  • 92g packet Mild Golden Curry Sauce Mix
  • 2 green shallots, thinly sliced diagonally
Instructions:
  • Preheat your oven to a toasty 220°C (200°C fan forced).
  • Roughly chop half of the McNuggets and distribute evenly among twelve 80ml (1/3 cup) muffin pans. Add a whole McNugget into each pan.
  • *Evenly distribute the rice among the muffin pans. Pat the rice over the nuggets using moistened hands until fully covered. Lightly brush with oil. Bake for 10-15 minutes or until the rice turns a light golden color.*
  • In a medium frying pan over medium heat, pour 125ml (1/2 cup) water. Stir in the curry sauce mix until smooth and bring to a gentle boil. Gradually pour in 250ml (1 cup) water while stirring constantly until fully combined. If needed, add 1-2 tbsp more water until the sauce reaches a pouring consistency.
  • Transfer the cooked rice cakes onto a serving plate or board. Drizzle the curry sauce on top and sprinkle shallots. Serve and enjoy with our Maccas chicken nugget Katsu cake recipe video for guidance.
