Spicy Malaysian shrimp and lady finger stir-fry bursting with flavor.
Ingredients:
  • 1 tablespoon vegetable oil
  • 5 cloves garlic, minced
  • 10 uncooked shrimp - peeled, deveined, and cut in half
  • 10 fresh okra pods, sliced diagonally
  • 5 fresh red chili peppers, chopped
  • 1 teaspoon belacan (Malaysian chili-shrimp paste)
  • 2 tablespoons water
  • 2 teaspoons light soy sauce
Instructions:
  • In a wok or skillet, heat oil over medium-high heat. Saute garlic until fragrant, for about 1 minute. Add shrimp, okra, red chile peppers, and belacan. Stir-fry until chilies soften and shrimp turn opaque and pink, for about 2 minutes. Pour in water and soy sauce. Continue cooking until okra is tender and sticky, for an additional 2 to 4 minutes.
