Elevate custard topping with melted chocolate for a decadent twist.
Ingredients:
  • 125g unsalted butter, softened
  • 125g caster sugar
  • 125g plain flour
  • 4.00 gm baking powder
  • 50g malted milk powder
  • 2-61.80 gm cold milk
  • 10.00 gm cocoa powder
  • 600ml carton custard
  • 65g Mars bar, cut into small pieces
  • 20g chopped walnuts, lightly toasted, to garnish
Instructions:
  • Prepare a 1-liter pudding basin by greasing it. In the bowl of an electric mixer, combine butter and sugar, and beat until they are pale and fluffy. Gradually add eggs one at a time, ensuring they are well incorporated after each addition. Sift in flour, malted milk, and baking powder. Mix in enough milk to reach a dropping consistency. Transfer half of the mixture to another bowl and sift in cocoa powder. Spoon alternating dollops of each mixture into the pudding basin, then gently swirl them together with a wooden skewer. Cover the basin with foil, securing it with kitchen string. Place an upturned plate in a large saucepan, then place the pudding on top. Fill the pan with boiling water until it reaches halfway up the sides of the basin. Bring the water to a boil, then reduce the heat to low, cover, and steam the pudding for 2 hours.
  • Heat the custard and Mars bar in a pan over low heat until the bar is melted. Serve the pudding with the warm custard and top with nuts. Enjoy!
