Maple syrup cookies with a sugary finish. Perfect with coffee or as an ice cream topper.
Ingredients:
  • 4 cups all-purpose flour
  • 2 teaspoons baking soda
  • 0.5 teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup butter, softened
  • 1 cup packed brown sugar
  • 1 cup real maple syrup
  • 0.33333334326744 cup granulated sugar for decoration
Instructions:
  • Preheat your oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C) and grease two cookie sheets.
  • Sift together flour, baking soda, and salt into a bowl.
  • In a large bowl, use an electric mixer to cream together butter and brown sugar until smooth. Add maple syrup, egg, and vanilla and mix until fully combined. Gradually mix in the flour mixture until well incorporated.
  • Roll dough into 1-inch balls and place on two cookie sheets, spacing them 2 inches apart. Gently press balls down with a glass to flatten slightly. Sprinkle each cookie with a dash of remaining sugar.
  • Place in the preheated oven and bake until a beautiful golden color forms, which should take about 8 to 10 minutes. Then, allow the cookies to cool on wire racks. Repeat this process for the remaining cookies.
