Elevate grilled chicken with maple, Dijon, and chives for a burst of flavor.
Ingredients:
  • 3/4 cup maple-flavored syrup
  • 1/2 cup Dijon mustard
  • 2 tablespoons chopped fresh chives
  • 1 cut-up whole chicken (3 to 3 1/2 lb)
  • 1 teaspoon seasoned salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon coarse ground black pepper
Instructions:
  • Prepare the grill for direct heat. Combine maple syrup, mustard, and chives in a 1-quart saucepan.
  • Season chicken pieces with seasoned salt and pepper. Grill covered over medium heat, skin sides up, for 15 minutes. Turn chicken and continue grilling covered for 20-40 minutes, while brushing with mustard mixture occasionally, until juices run clear when thickest piece is cut (170°F for breasts; 180°F for thighs and legs).
  • Bring the remaining mustard mixture to a boil for 1 minute. Serve the sauce with the chicken.
