Marinate chuck steak in balsamic and soy for optimum flavor and tenderness before pan-frying.
Ingredients:
  • 1 medium onion, sliced
  • 1 medium green bell pepper, sliced
  • 0.5 cup balsamic vinegar
  • 0.5 cup olive oil
  • 0.25 cup Worcestershire sauce
  • 0.25 cup soy sauce
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 teaspoon crushed dried rosemary
  • 1 teaspoon ground black pepper
  • 12 ounces boneless chuck steak
Instructions:
  • Combine onion and bell pepper slices with vinegar, olive oil, Worcestershire sauce, soy sauce, garlic, rosemary, and pepper in a large resealable plastic bag. Add steak, coat well with the marinade, remove air, seal the bag, and chill in the refrigerator for at least 3 hours or overnight.
  • Remove the steak from the marinade, letting any excess drip off. Discard half of the marinade.
  • Combine the leftover liquid along with the onion and pepper slices in a large frying pan. Sear over high heat for 2 minutes. Push the vegetables to one side and introduce the steak. Lower the heat to medium-high and sear for 4 minutes. Transfer the vegetables to a plate and flip the steak; continue cooking until desired doneness, approximately 3 to 5 more minutes. Use an instant-read thermometer to ensure the steak reaches 140 degrees F (60 degrees C) for medium doneness.
  • Remove excess liquid from the pan before plating the steak alongside sautéed onion and bell pepper.
