Elevate your summer picnic with fiery chilies and zesty pineapple salsa for a Mexican-inspired twist.
Ingredients:
  • 1 cup chopped fresh or canned pineapple
  • 1/4 cup chopped red onion
  • 1 tablespoon chopped fresh cilantro
  • Juice of 1 lime
  • 2 to 3 jalapeño chiles
  • 6 hot dogs
  • 1/2 cup mayonnaise
  • 1 to 3 teaspoons chopped chipotle chiles in adobo sauce (from 7-oz can)
  • 6 hot dog buns, split
Instructions:
  • Preheat gas or charcoal grill. Combine salsa ingredients in a small bowl; set aside.
  • Grill jalapeños over medium heat until tender and slightly charred. Transfer to cutting board, remove stems and seeds, then slice into rings; set aside.
  • Grill hot dogs over medium heat for about 10 minutes, turning occasionally, until heated through.
  • Combine mayonnaise with chipotle chiles in a small bowl. Spread the mixture onto the cut sides of each bun. Fill the buns with grilled hot dogs and garnish with pineapple salsa and jalapeño rings.
