Cheesy beef and sausage casserole with flaky crescent roll topping.
Ingredients:
  • 0.5 pound bulk hot Italian sausage
  • 1 medium onion, chopped
  • 1 medium bell pepper, chopped
  • 2 tablespoons all-purpose flour
  • 0.25 teaspoon dried oregano
  • 0.125 teaspoon ground black pepper, or to taste
  • 1 (26 ounce) jar spaghetti sauce
  • 1 (16 ounce) package frozen mixed vegetables, thawed
  • 1 (8 ounce) package refrigerated crescent roll dough
  • 1 cup shredded Cheddar cheese
Instructions:
  • Preheat your oven to a toasty 350 degrees F (175 degrees C) and generously grease a 9x13-inch baking dish.
  • In a large skillet over medium heat, brown and crumble the ground beef, sausage, onion, and bell pepper for 7 to 10 minutes until fully cooked. Remove excess grease and continue cooking.
  • Combine flour, salt, oregano, and pepper in the skillet. Add spaghetti sauce and mixed vegetables. Simmer for 5 minutes. Transfer to the baking dish.
  • Roll out the crescent dough into a flat layer and place it over the beef mixture. Sprinkle the Cheddar cheese on top.
  • Bake until the dough is golden and cheese is melted for approximately 30 minutes in the preheated oven.
