Delicious chilled torte, perfect for celebrations. A favorite for years, loved by all, especially birthday boy.
Ingredients:
  • 1 (20 ounce) can crushed pineapple with juice
  • 1 (18.25 ounce) package yellow cake mix
  • 1 (8 ounce) package cream cheese
  • 1 (12 ounce) container frozen whipped topping, thawed
  • 1 (3.5 ounce) package instant vanilla pudding mix
  • 2 cups milk
  • 1 cup chopped walnuts
Instructions:
  • Heat your oven to a toasty 350 degrees F (175 degrees C) and generously grease and flour a 9x13 inch pan.
  • Wrap drained pineapple in a clean cheesecloth and squeeze out excess juice to prevent runny filling.
  • Bake cake as directed on the package. Pour half of the batter into the pan and set aside the rest for another use.
  • Bake at 350 degrees F (175 degrees C) for about 20 minutes until the cake is done. Allow the cake to cool in the pan on a wire rack.
  • In a bowl, beat cream cheese until fluffy. Gradually mix in milk until well combined. Add instant pudding and beat until thickened. Refrigerate until ready to use. Once cake is cooled and pudding is set, assemble the cake by spreading the pudding on top, topping with drained pineapple, frozen whipped topping, and chopped walnuts. Refrigerate and indulge!
