Indulge in a refreshing watermelon mint granita, a renowned Italian frozen treat.
Ingredients:
  • 1/3 cup sugar
  • 1/2 cup water
  • 1/4 cup mint-flavored apple jelly
  • 4 cups seeded watermelon cubes
  • 2 tablespoons fresh lemon juice
Instructions:
  • In a small saucepan, stir together sugar, water, and jelly until completely combined. Heat over medium-high heat for about 4 minutes, ensuring the sugar is fully dissolved and the jelly is melted. Let cool for 5 minutes before using.
  • Blend watermelon in a blender or food processor until smooth. Mix in the cooled syrup and lemon juice until well combined. Pour the mixture into a 13x9-inch baking dish and freeze for at least 1 hour until icy around the edges.
  • Gently stir and mash with a fork to break up ice crystals. Freeze for about 2 hours or until completely frozen, stirring mixture with a fork every 30 minutes. Serve right away or allow to sit at room temperature for 5 to 15 minutes before serving. When ready to serve, gently stir with a fork and scoop into 6 individual dessert dishes.
