Japanese Miso Sausage Rolls with Miso Kewpie Mayo - irresistible finger food.
Ingredients:
  • 1 brown onion, coarsely grated
  • 500g beef mince
  • 75.00 gm red miso paste
  • 187.50 ml fresh breadcrumbs
  • 3 sheets frozen puff pastry, just thawed, halved
  • Sesame seeds, to sprinkle
  • ½ cup Kewpie mayonnaise
  • 36.00 gm red miso paste
Instructions:
  • Drain the grated onion well and discard the liquid. Combine it in a large bowl with the mince, miso, breadcrumbs, and half of the egg. Mix everything thoroughly using your hands.
  • Preheat your oven to 220C/200C fan-forced and prepare 2 baking trays by lining them with baking paper.
  • Spread 1/6 of the filling along one long side of the pastry half. Roll up the pastry to enclose the filling, then cut into 6 pieces. Place them seam-side down on the trays. Repeat this step with the remaining filling and pastry. Brush with egg, sprinkle with sesame seeds, and bake for 25 to 30 minutes until golden and puffed.
  • Prepare the Miso Kewpie Mayo by whisking together mayonnaise and miso paste in a small bowl until smooth. Stir in 1 teaspoon of boiling water until well combined. Serve the sausage rolls with this delicious dipping sauce.
