Sip on a refreshing Mixed Berry Red Wine Sangria made with red wine, brandy, orange juice, and fresh/frozen berries - ideal for summer gatherings!
Ingredients:
  • 3 tablespoons sugar
  • 1 orange, cut into chunks, seeds removed
  • 1 1/4 cups mixed berries, fresh or frozen, such as blueberries, raspberries, or strawberries
  • 1 750-ml bottle red wine
  • 1/3 cup brandy
  • 3/4 cup orange juice
  • Extra fruit for garnish (optional)
  • Soda water or blood orange soda (optional)
Instructions:
  • Mash together sugar, fresh orange pieces, and mixed berries in a pitcher using a wooden spoon or muddler to extract juices and slightly crush the fruit.
  • Combine the red wine, brandy, and orange juice and let it steep for 5 minutes to 2 hours. The longer you wait, the better the flavors will be before serving.
  • Fill glasses with ice and additional fruit. Optionally, strain sangria for a clear appearance. Add soda water or a splash of blood orange soda for bubbles and extra flavor.
