Indulgent chocolate and coffee custard baked in a buttery pie crust with a walnut topping. Decadently rich and perfect served warm or chilled.
Ingredients:
  • 1 recipe pastry for a 9 inch single crust pie
  • 2 (1 ounce) squares unsweetened chocolate
  • 0.25 cup butter
  • 1 tablespoon instant coffee powder
  • 1 (14 ounce) can sweetened condensed milk
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 cup walnuts
Instructions:
  • Preheat the oven to 350 degrees Fahrenheit (175 degrees Celsius) for the perfect cooking temperature.
  • In a medium saucepan, let the chocolate and butter (or margarine) marry over gentle heat until velvety smooth. Dissolve coffee in 1/4 cup of hot water, then blend it into the pan along with sweetened condensed milk, eggs, and vanilla. Combine all ingredients thoroughly. Pour this luscious mixture into the pastry shell and garnish generously with walnuts.
  • Bake until the center is firm, approximately 40-45 minutes. Allow to cool before serving.
