Create a zesty Mexican dish by whipping up a quick 30-minute mole chili featuring savory ground beef and flavorful Muir Glen™ tomatoes.
Ingredients:
  • 1 lb ground beef round
  • 1 cup chopped onion (1 large)
  • 1 clove garlic, finely chopped
  • 1 can (14.5 oz) Muir Glen™ organic diced tomatoes, undrained
  • 1 cup water
  • 2 tablespoons chili powder
  • 1 oz semisweet baking chocolate, coarsely chopped
  • 1 teaspoon ground cumin
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon dried oregano leaves
Instructions:
  • In a 3- to 4-quart saucepan, cook the beef over medium-high heat for 5 to 7 minutes until fully cooked, stirring occasionally. Drain excess fat if needed. Add the onion and garlic; cook for 4 minutes until tender, stirring occasionally.
  • Combine tomatoes, water, chili powder, chocolate, cumin, salt, and oregano in a pot and bring to a boil. Reduce heat, cover, and simmer for 7 to 10 minutes, stirring occasionally until heated through. Serve hot and garnish individual portions with sour cream and cilantro.
