Impress your guests with homemade molten chocolate cakes. Easy-to-make recipe for restaurant-quality lava cakes using common ingredients. Wow your dinner parties with gooey chocolatey wonders every time!
Ingredients:
  • Unsweetened baking cocoa
  • 6 oz semisweet baking chocolate, chopped
  • 1/2 cup plus 2 tablespoons butter
  • 3 whole eggs
  • 3 egg yolks
  • 1 1/2 cups powdered sugar
  • 1/2 cup Gold Medal™ all-purpose flour
  • Additional powdered sugar, if desired
Instructions:
  • Preheat the oven to 450°F. Grease six (6-oz) custard cups with shortening and dust with cocoa. In a 2-quart saucepan, melt the chocolate and butter over low heat, stirring occasionally. Allow it to cool slightly.
  • In a large bowl, vigorously whisk whole eggs and egg yolks until fully combined. Add 1 1/2 cups of powdered sugar and beat until incorporated. Mix in the melted chocolate mixture and flour. Distribute the batter evenly into custard cups and arrange them on a rimmed baking sheet.
  • - Bake for 12 to 14 minutes, until the sides are set and the centers are still soft with puffed and cracked tops. Allow them to stand for 3 minutes, then run a small knife or metal spatula along the sides to loosen. Quickly place a heatproof serving plate upside down on each cup, flip it over, and remove the cup. Dust with powdered sugar and serve warm.
