Ingredients:
  • 750g beef rump steak, trimmed, cut into 2.5cm pieces
  • 40.00 ml Chinese cooking wine (see note)
  • 21.60 gm hoisin sauce
  • 21.00 gm soy sauce
  • 2cm piece fresh ginger, peeled, finely grated
  • 1/2 tsp sesame oil
  • Rice bran oil spray
  • 450g packet egg fried rice in 2 1/2 minutes
  • Chopped fresh chives, to serve
Instructions:
  • Skewer the beef. Mix wine, hoisin sauce, soy sauce, ginger, garlic, and sesame oil in a shallow glass or ceramic dish. Add the beef and coat it evenly. Cover and refrigerate for 1 to 2 hours, if possible.
  • Preheat your barbecue plate or chargrill on high heat, then reduce it to medium. Spray the skewers with oil and cook for 5 minutes for medium doneness or until they reach your desired level of doneness, turning occasionally.
  • Cook the rice according to the package instructions, then serve the skewers and rice garnished with chives.
