Indulge in decadent chocolate peanut butter frosted banana bread.
Ingredients:
  • 1/2 cup shortening
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 cup mashed banana (3 medium)
  • 2 cups Gold Medal™ all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 cup chopped peanuts
  • 1/2 cup miniature semisweet chocolate chips
  • 2 tablespoons from 1 tub (16 oz) Betty Crocker™ Rich & Creamy Chocolate Frosting
  • 1 tablespoon creamy peanut butter
Instructions:
  • Preheat your oven to 350°F. Grease the bottom of a 9x5x3 inch loaf pan with shortening.
  • Using an electric mixer, cream together 1/2 cup of shortening and sugar in a large bowl until fluffy. Add eggs and bananas, mix until smooth. Gradually mix in flour, baking powder, baking soda, and salt until just combined. Fold in peanuts and chocolate chips. Transfer the batter into a pan.
  • Bake for 1 hour to 1 hour 10 minutes until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean. Let it cool in the pan for 10 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack to cool completely, which will take about 1 hour.
  • Transfer the frosting into a small plastic food-storage bag. Microwave on High for 6 to 10 seconds, or until it reaches a pourable consistency. Add peanut butter to the bag and gently massage it until the peanut butter and frosting are fully combined. Cut a tiny corner off the bag and use it to drizzle the chocolate mixture over the bread.
